"Nic is a really great tutor, friendly, patient and adaptable to the individual's learning style. His passion for the mandolin really comes across and his enthusiasm is infectious"

I have experience teaching one to one lessons with children and adults, as well as running group workshops on the mandolin, teaching a range of styles including folk, bluegrass, old time and jazz. I welcome players of any level from beginners to advanced, and can help develop tune playing, accompaniment, technique and reading music on the mandolin alongside the individual direction of any student's playing.

Lessons are £35 for 50 minutes

Following video lessons I send students relevant tablature/sheet music, short video links which detail specific exercises as well as general notes as needed.

Terms For Lessons

Lessons are payable in advance or on the day of a lesson.

Lessons cancelled within 24 hours are still payable in full, unless rescheduling allows within the week. I try and be as flexible as possible to fit in with my students schedules, but it really helps if students can let me know as much in advance as possible if they are cancelling a lesson.

"My first lesson with Nic was great. He was very easy to talk to and it was a very relaxed environment. His instructions and teaching style is very straightforward and he is happy to pause and answer any questions you may have. He was organised with the lesson and had printouts and sheets which he gave me for homework and further learning. Very much looking forward to continuing our lessons together!"

"Nic is an excellent musician who luckily also really enjoys teaching. If you want to get to know the A to Z of the Mandolin... Nic Zuppardi's your man. His ethusiasm and willingness to share his knowledge is both stimulating and infectious. His lessons, whether in person or via Zoom are always a rewarding and enjoyable experience."
"I have been having mandolin and mandola lessons with Nic for just over 5 years. I could not have found a better tutor as although he is very professional musician in his own right and one of the busiest musicians on the scene at present, he is also a really excellent and professional teacher, very friendly, down to earth, and encouraging and supportive of his students in not only teaching technique but by introducing students to different ideas and styles of playing, as well as other music, musicians and bands they may never have come across. Apart from learning a great deal from him, he has instilled in me much more confidence and I very much enjoy his lessons and look forward to them."

"Nic is an excellent tutor, very knowledgeable, patient & friendly and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I was a complete beginner when I first went to Nic and I found his style of teaching very easy to follow. When I found him on the Internet-there were only 2 in the area-fortunately I chose Nic.
