I have a firm belief that great playing doesn't need to be complicated, and that a focus on the rudiments of technique, tone and rhythm can equip anyone to make enjoyable sounds at whatever level. I teach students from a range of backgrounds, many of whom don't have any experience of playing an instrument or music theory let alone one based in any particular tradition or style.

The lessons on this site are primarily designed to reinforce basic principles of theory and technique. Disclaimer - this is pretty dry theory, so dip in and out between tunes to exercise the principles in context!

The first lessons on rudiments are currently all available for free, along with a couple of intermediate lessons to  that are complete and available to those interested in developing their playing. As I publish more material it will be included on the lesson lists, and available for purchase as pdfs.
